Dementia Caregiver Support Group-In-Person

Caring for a loved one with dementia can be challenging, but you don’t have to face it alone. Sun Health’s Memory Care Navigator team invites you to join the Dementia Caregiver Support Group, which offers a welcoming and understanding community where you can find comfort, guidance and a renewed sense of strength. If you are a family member or friend caring for an individual with dementia, please join us to share your experiences, learn new approaches and gather community resources.

Caring Connections

Thursday, October 22 from 10:00 am to 11:15 am

Caring Connections is a monthly support group for couples to attend together—where one partner is living with Mild Cognitive Impairment or Early-Stage Dementia. The focus is on staying connected, sharing joys and challenges, and receiving support to navigate the journey as a team. Each session includes social time, brain-healthy snacks, activities, and both emotional and practical support.

Registration is not required.

Expressive Connections

A new monthly program offering structured, arts-based experiences designed to foster social connection, support emotional wellbeing, and promote meaningful engagement for individuals living with mild cognitive impairment or early-stage dementia and/or their care partners. Participants are welcome to attend on their own or together.

Stress affects many aspects of health, including inflammation, sleep, pain, energy, and resilience. This talk explores how stress influences the body as we age and shares practical strategies to support well-being and overall health.

Swing Away! Golf Fitness (4 weeks)

Friday, October 23 from 9:30 am to 10:15 am
Sun Health Center for Health & Wellbeing

Improve your game from the ground up in this fun and active 4-week golf fitness workshop. Designed for golfers of all skill levels, this class focuses on the seven key components of golf fitness: strength, flexibility, balance, stability, stamina, muscular endurance, and body composition. Participants will use a variety of fitness tools, including stability balls, resistance bands, hand weights, small exercise balls, and mats, to build physical skills that support a stronger, safer, and more effective golf swing. Floor and modified exercises will be included, and weekly take-home assignments will help reinforce progress between classes.

Understanding Grief & Mourning

Grief and loss can be overwhelming experiences, but the more you know about what to expect, the less frightening it is. Please join Hospice of the Valley as she explains the different types of grief and their effects, why expressing grief is so important, and discuss ways to help people who are grieving.

Salvation Army

Memory Cafés provide a social and resource place for people living with memory loss and their care partners. Caregivers participate in an educational and/or support session while people with memory loss actively participate in a cognitive engagement program.

Rest Well, Age Well

Thursday, October 29 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Sun Health Center for Health & Wellbeing

Sleep plays an important role in memory, mood, energy, physical health, and overall well-being. This session reviews how sleep changes with age, why it matters for healthy aging, including brain health, and what older adults can do to improve sleep quality.
